Forum | Banjo Frank Kayak Adventure

On Friday night Banjo Frank visited the pool and asked me to notify anyone who might be interested in going on a kayaking adventure in May. 

Now normally I get quite uneasy about situations where canoes or kayaks come together with banjos and I would refer anyone to the usual advice of 'paddle faster if you hear banjos'.

Probably got something to do with seeing the movie 'Deliverance' at too young an age (25yrs).  I still get nervous when I see toothless yocals on riverbanks whilst out paddling.

Anyway Banjo Frank seemed like a straight-up chappie so no need to worry about that and he said he was organising a kayaking trip to raise money for a charity (Heart Foundation I can't remember exactly). 

He is hoping to do a Sea Kayaking weekend trip (this is all from memory of our conversation on Friday night). 

Paddlers head up Loch Long, transport kayaks over Land to Loch Lomond (squeezing in a few nights of camping here and there) – paddle to Balmaha and then transport over land to Kippen and then paddle down the Forth.  This is my recollection of the discussion.

Paddlers are welcome to go and do any section or the whole journey.
